The Forget-Me-Not, a perennial blue flowering plant, is the state flower of Alaska. Myosotis alpestris, a.k.a. the Alpine Forget-me-not, grows well throughout Alaska in open, rocky places high in the mountains, flowering in midsummer. The little blooms are very fragrant in the evening and night time, though there is little or no scent in the daytime. The plant has astringent and ophthalmic properties and is an excellent remedy for many eye diseases (http://www.pfaf.org/user/Plant.aspx…).
When you think about flowers this summer, we hope you will Forget-Me-Not and remember to give blood with Community Blood Center.
